The challenge is:
who would be that group that is determined to change?

Problems, there are problems that usual people couldn't see because they are "immuned" to the disease. They no longer or, refuse to react or they just adapt to the disease, and go with the flow. Diseases could not be solved if they are not identified. So how could one person solve a disease if it is not even identified by the society because it is subdued. No one wants to think, because it seems to have become a way of life, a culture...

Well, if there is determination, anything's possible.
